The influence of a family business...

Growing up in a family business was the best education I could have ever asked for. You've heard it all... dedication, sacrifice, hard work, ownership, and so on. My greatest memory about a family business was just that, family. There is nothing better for a child than having access to your parents at any given moment during the day. The next thing was to provide the very best service and product to our customers and they will come back again and again, which they did. They would be part of our business family, which is as important as our family. Always... treat people right!

Leadership experience...

At an early age I was managing all aspects of a small family bakery business along with serving in leadership as an Officer for a rural ambulance service. At the age of 24, I was elected to the village Board as a Village Trustee, serving until I moved to the Fox Valley. My leadership "training" was truly an accelerated education, learning by hard knocks and at times flying by the seat of my pants. There was little online at that time and I was forced to read and learn as much as I could quickly to address all the necessary tasks that come with business ownership, helping manage an ambulance service, and making sound decisions while serving on the Village Board.

Selfless commitment to community...

Since 1985, I've served in many ways within my community. Areas of service include EMS, Emergency Management, VillageBoards, Chamber of Commerce, and counltess local and county level committees and boards, both at the board level and Chair. My commitments included decision making based on facts and research, rather than what "felt good".
